The Bookish Box – March 2017

The March Bookish Box finally arrived and included an array of items from stories with powerful sidekicks!

The Bookish Box has honestly been a bit of a let down overall the last few months, so I was genuinely hoping for something to really turn it around for me.

The shirt this month was inspired by Samwise from Lord of the Rings.  It reads:
“I can’t carry it for you but I can carry you and it as well.”
This powerful quote was a great starting point for the sidekicks box.

The next item was a tote bag inspired by Marlee from The Selection series which reads:
“There was too much love in my heart to leave room for regret.”
If you haven’t read The Selection series, it’s a wonderful set of books and Marlee was a wonderful sidekick.  I’m pleased to see she was mentioned.

Next, we have one of the most famous sidekicks, John Watson embodied with a pair of Sherlock socks by Out of Print.  Unfortunately Watson wasn’t pictured on the side, but I understand the reference and am glad that he was included.  Plus socks….never go wrong with socks.

Cherry Pit Crafts had a hand in this month’s box, creating a Simon inspired candle from (I think, heh) The Shadowhunters series.  I’m not positive though so don’t quote me.  It’s titled “Java Jones” and smells strongly of coffee which is always a great go-to scent for a candle.  I’m sure it has some tie-in to the character but unfortunately I haven’t read it.

Finally, the last item was an art print by Lexy Olivia inspired by The Lunar Chronicles though this is yet another series I have yet to read.  This print is really pretty and I’m assuming it’s a quote from a sidekick in the series but, again, I have no idea from who.

The book this month was The Hidden Memory of Objects by Danielle Mages Amato.  I absolutely loved this title and was thrilled to see it included!  You can click here to see my full review of this book.

Overall, this box was good – not great.  I was hoping for a major wow factor but there was nothing I absolutely had to have.
